Non-Repairable Welded Diaphragm Accumulators
Product Description:
HYDAC diaphragm accumulators utilize the compressibility of a gas (nitrogen) in storing hydraulic energy. This gas is necessary as fluids are essentially incompressible and therefore unable to store energy on their own. The diaphragm acts as a barrier between the gas and fluid sides of the accumulator.
The diaphragm accumulator works by drawing in fluid from the hydraulic circuit as pressure increases, compressing the gas in the process. When pressure decreases, the gas expands and returns the stored energy back to the circuit.
A poppet is integrated into the diaphragm to prevent it from being forced out through the fluid port.
HYDAC produces two different types of diaphragm accumulators:
- Welded (non-repairable)
- Threaded (repairable)
These accumulators have been successfully applied in both industrial and mobile applications for tasks such as energy storage, pressure maintenance, leak compensation, and vehicle hydraulic systems (e.g. brakes and suspension).
